After the July 4th holiday, this feels like a bonus weekend!

If you love comic books, Mennen Arena is the place to be. Make sure to visit the Morristown police table for some great giveaways.

Looking for fun under the stars? The Shakespeare Theatre has just the ticket.

And on Sunday, sample music and food from Greater Morristown’s diverse cultural scene, at the first annual Diversity Day.

THURSDAY, JULY 5, 2018:

The Shakespeare Theatre of New Jersey presents an outdoor production of The Servant of Two Masters, an 18th-century slapstick romp directed by Doug West. Showtime is 8 pm. FRIDAY, JULY 6:

The Minstrel in Morris Township presents Kirsten Maxwell at 7:30 pm, with opener Hayden Grayson. Admission: $10, children 12 and under, free. At the Morristown Unitarian Fellowship, 21 Normandy Heights Road. Normally, we don’t focus on the openers, but this one was chosen based on his performance at the Folk Project’s Open Stage:

SATURDAY, JULY 7:

The Presbyterian Church in Morristown hosts a yard sale from 8:30 am to 4 pm, outside the Parish House at 65 South St.

The Morris Plains Farmers Market is back, from 9 am to 2 pm every Saturday through Oct. 6, 2018, on Merchant’s Block, next to the Model Railroad Club.

Dig it! Plant it! Eat it! At Morristown’s Macculloch Hall Historical Museum, from 10 am to 11:30 am. Children can learn how Macculloch Hall grew, prepared, and stored fruits and vegetables in olden days; also explore the garden, observe pollinating insects and birds, and create art. The Garden State Comic Fest returns to the Mennen Arena in Morris Township, from 10 am to 6 pm today and from 10 am to 5 pm on Sunday. Make sure to visit the Morristown PBA 43 table, where police will give away 300 comic book prints by the Dynamic Duo of Bella Rachlin and Idan Knafo-Kerbis. It’s the third year that these talented artists are helping Morristown police, a collaboration made possible through a mutual acquaintance with Lt. Michael Molnar.  Tickets and packages to the show range from $15-$75. At 161 E. Hanover Ave.

SUNDAY, JULY 8:

The Morristown Farmers Market is back, at 8:30 am every Sunday through Nov. 18. At Lot 10, behind the Post Office, between Dumont Place and Morris Street. Presented by the Morristown Partnership.

Garden State Comic Fest poster 2018The first annual Diversity Day comes to the Morristown Green, starting with an interfaith service at 11 am. From noon to 4 pm, live music and ethnic and international foods will celebrate the diverse cultures of Greater Morristown. Presented by area churches and civic groups, the festivities are free. If it rains, everything moves inside the Morristown United Methodist Church.
