A heat wave did not deter many from enjoying Saturday’s Family Day and Fireworks at the Morris Plains Community Park.
Entertainment for the kids included face painting, a bounce house, a mechanical surf board, and a bungee trampoline, which had youngsters (literally) doing back flips.
Merriloons the Clown, from Budd Lake, delighted kids with her antics. A rock climbing wall and dunk tank raised money for the Morris Plains Volunteer Department.

The local Boy Scout troop helped out with the canoeing and there was plenty of ice cream, hot dogs, and cotton candy to fuel everyone.
Fireworks capped the evening, accompanied to live music from the Morris Plains Community Band.
