Tanya Blaine, the Roselle driver whose car was struck by a falling tree on Morristown’s Ford Avenue on June 18, 2018, has died.

She passed away at Morristown Medical Center on June 22, Morristown Police Lt. Stuart Greer said in a statement on Wednedsay.

Blaine was 57.

Her passenger, Nikisha Turner, 46, of Morristown, continues to undergo treatment at the hospital for non-life- threatening injuries, Greer said.

Blaine’s Nissan Sentra was traveling South on Ford Avenue, towards Franklin Street, around 8 pm, when the tree came down.

A thunderstorm had ripped through town.

It took firefighters and towing personnel with heavy equipment about an hour to extricate the victims from the wreckage, according to people close to the scene.

Funeral arrangements are being made by Blaine’s family, Greer said.
