While Morristown’s Burnham Park Pool has a calm, relaxed environment, the Township’s Ginty and Streeter pools provide a fun atmosphere for their patrons.

After massive renovations in recent years, Ginty and Streeter offer popular new features for all ages.

Ginty sports a family bay and dumping buckets. Streeter added a vortex whirlpool. For the comfort of senior patrons, seating was installed in the pools.

UPDATE: The threat of bad weather has pushed the Streeter Pool Grand Opening Party, scheduled for Saturday, June 23, 2018, to Tuesday, July 3, from 3 pm to 8 pm. the October Rose Band will perform at Ginty Pool on Sunday, June 24, at 3 pm.

Morris Township spent approximately $4.3 million on renovations, spurring a 25 percent increase in memberships.

“We were looking for our niche, and we felt that presenting the public with new children’s splash play areas would be really well received,” said Bill Foelsch, director of the Township’s recreation department.

A summer family membership to both Ginty and Streeter pools is $390 for Township residents, and $480 for residents of Morristown. The pools are open seven days a week all summer, many times with special events.

Down the road from the Streeter Pool is the Burnham Park Pool, Morristown’s clean and simple facility.

Morristown’s recreation director, Amanda Applegate, said the low-key atmosphere environment at Burnham is no accident.

“The calmness without slides and other ornaments provides a safe environment tailored to allowing kids learn how to swim and senior citizens to have a relaxing day at the pool,” Applegate said.

Burnham Pool is well known for the rigorous training of its lifeguards. Conducting drills regularly, the lifeguards demonstrate to the patrons that they are safe.

A family membership for residents of Morristown is $240 and for a non-resident, $350.

Both municipalities’ pools are gathering places that enable residents to belong to a larger community. Each pool encourages water safety by offering morning lessons for young swimmers.

Joining a pool is a staple of summer, and Morristown and Morris Township make it easy and exciting to join. So, grab your goggles, towel, and sunscreen. Last one in the pool’s a ….
