Morristown (June 13, 2018) – The New Jersey Board of Nursing has granted approval to the College of Saint Elizabeth in Morristown to launch a four-year, pre-licensure Bachelor of Science in Nursing program beginning in fall 2018. The new BSN program is in addition to the college’s existing RN-to-BSN program and marks the first time students without prior nursing experience can enter the program as freshmen.

The College also is constructing a state-of-the-art nursing simulation center to be completed in August. The simulation center will provide crucial hands-on healthcare experience without leaving campus.

“Competition to get into hospitals and nursing homes for clinical rotations is fierce. The simulation center offers our students immediate access to the latest technology and care practices,” said Helen J. Streubert, president of CSE. “This practical experience will give CSE students the opportunity to hone critical thinking skills necessary for the today’s aggressive nursing job market.”

The simulation center also will be used by students in the College’s RN-BSN, nursing masters and Physician Assistant (planned opening, fall 2019) programs.

Applications are being accepted for the inaugural BSN class. For more information, go to http://www.cse.edu/newbsn.
