The National Weather Service has issued a severe thunderstorm watch for Greater Morristown, and the rest of New Jersey, through 11 pm on Tuesday, May 15, 2018.
As of 4 pm, storms were barreling this way from the Poconos at 65 mph.
- 70 mph wind gusts and quarter-size hail.
- Minor damage to vehicles.
- Considerable tree damage.
- Wind damage is also likely to mobile homes, roofs, and outbuildings.
Flooding and even tornadoes are possible, according to forecasters and local police, who advise postponing travel until the storm system passes through the area.
