Singer-songwriter Joe Crookston has become a favorite at The Minstrel in Morris Township, for reasons that will be obvious when you watch these videos from Friday’s show.

His songs are thoughtful, his musicianship (guitar, lap slide guitar, cigar box guitar, fiddle) is sure, and his stage presence is warm, like an old friend from Ithaca who’s happy to see you again.

Crookston’s opener, Emily Mure of New York, started her musical journey as a classically trained oboist.

Her gentle voice complements Crookston’s perfectly, as you will hear on one of the videos.

Next at The Minstrel: Open Stage, Friday, April 13, 2018, at 7 pm. Admission is $5. At the Morristown Unitarian Fellowship, 21 Normandy Heights Road, Morris Township.
