Video: Frosty flavors of the St. Patrick’s Parade in Morristown…and warm thanks to our peerless Parade Brigade

Our cockles need warming after Saturday’s nippy Morris County St. Patrick’s Parade. And these video clips are just the thing to do it.

Many thanks to Morristown Green contributor Jeff Sovelove for braving the elephants, er, elements, to capture these scenes. (Sorry, my tongue has frozen to the roof of my mouth.)

Likewise, we tip our tricorn to MG sharpshooters Katharine Boyle and Bill Lescohier for their heroic efforts in the deep freeze.

We also are indebted to our intrepid marchers, who held our banners high and gave Old Man Winter a uke rebuke.

Thank you to the Youth Division of our Parade Brigade: Anastasia Adams, 10; Alexa Adams, 8; Arielle Adams, 6; and Amaya Mercury, 6. You made us proud!

And thank you to our grownup Green Team (listed alphabetically): Beth Bachmann, Danny Vento, Kizzy Wilson, Susan D’Alessandro and last but NEVER least, Willa Hayes, for displaying the stoic spirit of Jockey Hollow, on a March day reminiscent of the wicked winter of 1779-80.

It was an honor and a privilege to march alongside you!

Congratulations to Grand Marshal John Murphy, and thank you to the Parade Committee for allowing us to celebrate this venerable tradition.

And special thanks to our friends from the American Legion Denville Memorial Post #390, who had our backs for the entire parade. We salute you. Thank you for your service.
