With a winter storm watch predicting four- to six inches of snow on Saturday night, Morristown parking garages will be free to town residents, Mayor Tim Dougherty’s office announced on Friday.

The Morristown Parking Authority will allow residents who normally park on-street or have on-street permits to park free in any of three garages between 8 pm on Saturday, Feb. 17, and 8 am on Monday, Feb. 19, 2018.

The garages:

  • DALTON GARAGE at CATANNO AVENUE
  • DEHART STREET GARAGE (VERY LIMITED AVAILABILTY)
  • ANN/BANK PARKING GARAGE

For fees to be waived, you will need to show your driver’s license as proof of residency.  Fees may be charged if you stay beyond 8 am on Monday, or if you are a non-resident.

Date and time of vehicle removal are subject to change; check back here, or at the town website for updates.

Snow is forecast from Saturday evening into very early Sunday morning. From the National Weather Service:

“Plan on difficult travel conditions. Significant reductions in visibility are possible. There is the potential for a short period of heavy snow Saturday night which could lead to a rapid deterioration in road conditions. The snow
could be wet enough especially closer to Interstate 95, potentially resulting in some power outages.”
