Discover History –President Washington’s military history– at a new exhibit opening at the Washington’s Headquarters Museum.

THURSDAY, FEB. 15, 2018:

The Big LebowskiThe Morristown & Township Library continues its retrospective of the Coen Brothers with their 1998 film The Big Lebowski (rated R) at 6:45 pm. Admission: Free. At One Miller Road, Morristown.

Also at the Morristown & Township Library: The Chess Club meets at 7 pm.

Sweden’s Helsingborg Symphony Orchestra comes to Morristown’s Mayo Performing Arts Center at 7:30 pm. Admission: $39-$69. At 100 South St., call 973-539-8008.

FRIDAY, FEB. 16:

Morning Yoga with Munah Hayes returns to the Morristown & Township Library at 9:30 am. Free. Bring a yoga mat. At One Miller Road, Morristown.

Anne Matlack starts her annual Lenten organ series with a 12:15 pm concert at Grace Episcopal Church in Madison. She’ll be joined by Morristown High School senior Elizabeth Monkemeier on clarinet, playing works by Vierne and Franck. Admission: Free. Lunch available for $7. At 4 Main St.

Singer / violinist Diane Perry comes to The Minstrel in Morris Township at 7:30 pm, with opener Roia Rafieyan. Admission: $10; 12 and under, free. At the Morristown Unitarian Fellowship, 21 Normandy Heights Road.

Masters of Illusion – Believe the Impossible comes to Morristown’s Mayo Performing Arts Center at 8 pm. Admission: $39-$69. At 100 South St., call 973-539-8008.

SATURDAY, FEB. 17:

The National Park Service unveils its $2.25 million Discover History Center at the Washington’s Headquarters Museum in Morristown, starting at 10 am. Revolutionary War re-enactors, period music, historical photos by artist Xiomaro, Ford Mansion tours, and special presentations by the Morris Tourism Bureau and others. Admission: Free. At 30 Washington Place.

Experience maple sugaring demonstrations at 1 pm and 2:30 pm, at the Great Swamp Outdoor Education Center in Chatham Township. Also on Sunday. Admission: $3.  Call 973.635.6629 for directions.

SUNDAY, FEB. 18:

Special Presidents Weekend festivities continue from 9:30 am to 4 pm at the Washington’s Headquarters Museum in Morristown. See Saturday entry for more details; activities schedule is here.

The weekly indoors Morris County Winter Farmers’ Market is back, from 10 am to 2 pm at Alexander Hamilton School, 24 Mills St., Morristown. It’s here each Sunday through April 15, 2018.

Greystone’s Legacy: The Movement to Save Kirkbrides, a talk by authors Rusty Tagliareni and Christina Mathews, comes to Acorn Hall in Morristown on at 2 p.m. Admission: $12 for adults, $10 for seniors, $7 for students, and free for MCHS members, and children under 12. At 68 Lafayette Ave.

MONDAY, FEB. 19, PRESIDENTS DAY

SMILE, GENERAL! Your Morristown museum is about to enter the 21st century.
