Happy First Friday!

You deserve a reward for surviving this brutally cold, snowy initial week of 2018. And here it is: Luscious sounds from Metropolitan Opera soprano Jennifer Check, and the Harmonium Choral Society, recorded at First Night Morris 2018.

Check sang at the Morristown United Methodist Church, accompanied on piano by Andrew Rosenblum for Puccini’s Vissi d’arte.

And Harmonium, led by Anne Matlack, brightened Morristown’s Episcopal Church of the Redeemer with God Rest Ye Merry Morristown and — this was New Year’s Eve, after all– Auld Lang Syne:
