The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for Greater Morristown, from 9 o’clock tonight, Wednesday, Jan. 3, to 7 pm on Thursday, Jan. 4, 2018.

Two to four inches of snow are possible, but the greatest danger is from predicted 40 mph wind gusts, which could knock out power — and heating — as bitter cold worsens.

Morristown Mayor Tim Dougherty’s office said the Morristown Parking Authority will provide free garage parking for residents who park on the street or have street permits.

It will extend from 5 pm on Wednesday until 8 am on Friday, Jan. 5, at the DALTON GARAGE at CATANNO AVENUE and the ANN/BANK PARKING GARAGE.  (Note: Not at the DeHart Street garage this time.)
