You have one more day to check out the scrumptious Gingerbread Wonderland exhibit, which runs through Sunday, Dec. 10, 2017, at the Frelinghuysen Arboretum in Morris Township.

A $2 admission fee  (children 2 and under, free) also gets you into the Gingerbread Craft Show.  The Arboretum is at 353 East Hanover Ave., across from the Morris County Library.

The Morris County Park Commission expects 15,000 people will view this year’s Gingerbread creations.

Guests have 154 entries to view. The 51 entries that reflect a Green theme were awarded a Green Ribbon.

A Green-themed exhibit tells a story about plants, the environment, or the natural world.  Examples include solar panels, rain gardens, backyard songbirds, camping, biking, or hiking.

You can take in the aroma-therapy as you explore the entries.  To whet your appetite, some Green Ribbon winners are pictured below below.

The Arboretum exhibit will be open from 10 am to 4:30 pm on Sunday,

Entries include groups of all ages and abilities, as well as single adults and youth.  We start with a delicious rendering of the Morristown Green:

Keeping the Morristown Green Green by a 6th Grade Girl Scout troop from Frelinghuysen Middle School.
Four Seasons at the Chapel with bats in the belfry.  Spring is a flowering cherry; Summer is a corkscrew willow; Fall is an apple tree; Winter is a star-topped fir.  Crocuses are encroaching into winter, as is Fall pumpkin harvest.

Over The River and Through the Garden has a tree, coconut snow and sugar-glass river.
Reindeer Vacation uses dried thyme trees, gingerbread alps, frosting clouds and gingerbread & icing hot-air balloon
Jersey Tomatoes the Life Cycle; sugar-glass greenhouse, realistically formed vegetables and chocolate walkway
Jockey Hollow; children and scout entries do not have to have a gingerbread structure.
Wind Power with cleverly fashioned windmills and a gingerbread structure.
