From the Morristown Fire Department:

American Red Cross Disaster Program Manager Claudio Perez and Morristown Community Emergency Response Team (C.E.R.T.) Director Colleen Carey kicked off a “Home Fire Preparedness Campaign” this past Saturday, Dec. 2, 2017.

Carey says “there were 57 volunteers between Red Cross, C.E.R.T., Fire Department and local Elected Officials and everyone did a fabulous job. It’s great to know that people come together when needed.”

Perez stated: “We handed out safety information to 179 people and installed 171 smoke detectors in 48 homes.”

Mayor Timothy P. Dougherty urges residents to take advantage of this program to help make our Community that much safer. He also thanked Perez and Carey for putting this together and the many volunteers who gave up their Saturday to come out and help the Community.

The American Red Cross is providing the Morristown Fire Department with free smoke detectors. The Fire Department will come to your house and install at no charge to the resident. Please call Department Secretary Lindsay Doyle at 973-292-6603 to make arrangements.
