This fall, two professors in the social work program at CSE presented a paper at the national Annual Program Meeting of the Council on Social Work Education (CSWE).

Dr. Louise Murray, program chair, and Dr. Bianca Channer, director of field placement, explained one of the unique features of the College’s social work program. A primary goal of the program is that students learn how to use research so that they can improve services to clients throughout their career. The program will select internships which allow students to apply what they have learned in the classroom to better serve individuals, families and communities.

In June 2017, the College’s baccalaureate social work program completed the first step in its accreditation process. With this recognition by the Council on Social Work Education, graduates can become credentialed as Certified Social Workers by the State of New Jersey – a plus when seeking employment.

The social work faculty is proud to have had a paper accepted through a peer review process by the national accrediting body and is committed to emphasizing best practices in social work in all courses.
