Craving a cupcake?  Pining for a pie?

Our informal survey found nine dedicated bakeries in Greater Morristown. The count excludes bakers of bagels, pan pizza, doughnuts, farmer’s markets and bakeries within supermarkets and restaurants.

Ethnic bakeries in Morristown include the Colombian Bakery (sweet cheese bread!) on Spring Street, and the Rico-Pan Bakery and the Pan Casero Bakery, both on Speedwell Avenue.

They all sell empanadas and other savories as well. (An empanadas restaurant, Raul’s on Morris Street, isn’t included in the count.)

The Artist Baker, on Cattano Ave., offers fresh pot pies in addition to tasty pastries and tarts.
