Getting you over the Wednesday hump: Vance Gilbert gets ‘Misty’ at The Minstrel

Here’s a little levity to propel you towards the weekend. It features Vance Gilbert, whose mischievous stylings had The Minstrel in stitches last Friday.

Gilbert is aided and abetted in this sendup of Misty by pianist Seth Farber.

And if you’re reading this, Neil deGrasse Tyson, Gilbert has a Pluto homage for you.

Tyson, who spoke at Drew University last week, is the astrophysicist who helped knock Pluto off its planetary peg.

The Minstrel’s Morris Township stage will be dark this week.

But the Folk Project is offering plenty of music, at its annual Fall Acoustic Getaway, from Friday through Sunday in a scenic corner of Warren County.

That’s three days of workshops and concerts, with The Kennedys, Roy Bookbinder, Burning Bridget Cleary, The Honey Dewdrops, Betsy Rose & The Chicago Fire, and more. You still may reserve a space, if you register quickly. Full weekend packages, including meals and lodging, are around $200.
