The sign behind the counter proclaims: Love fades, pizza is forever.

But the last slice from Anthony’s Pizza is today, Saturday, Sept. 30, 2017.

After 20 years on the Morristown Green, owner Rudy Ioppolo has sold his building. He says he’s ready for new adventures.

Let’s hope they involve a guitar.  A professional musician in his younger days, Rudy hasn’t missed a beat, as anyone who saw him perform with the Pizza Shop Boys at the 2014 Morristown’s Got Talent competition can verify.

And he’s nourished a lot of fellow musicians over the years, welcoming open mic performers and monthly sing-alongs of the Morristown Uke Jam at Anthony’s.

Rudy says the buyer plans another Italian restaurant. It may serve good pies…but matching Anthony’s vibe will be a tall order.
