Maybe Morristown High School should start a new tradition: Friday afternoon football.

The Colonials romped to a 49-7 victory against Columbia High School — Coach John Power’s former team — for their first win of 2017, at home in a game rescheduled from Saturday afternoon because of the Yom Kippur holiday.

Jhamil King ran for three touchdowns, including one for 57 yards. The Star-Ledger called this Morristown’s first home victory since Oct. 25, 2014; our sports desk is checking that.

Drew Chilson added a pair of touchdowns, and Nate Estiverne and Jack Woodworth also scored for the Colonials.

Columbia’s lone score came on a 72-yard gallop by Luke Hayes in the first quarter. It tied the game, but not for long.

Morristown (1-3) will try to build momentum on Friday at West Orange (2-2).
