Ah, Palmer, we remember when you were just a glimmer in your parents’ eyes:
Video: Mike Schmidt pops the question to Kacie Welsh, New Year’s Eve 2014:
Palmer James Schmidt joined the Morristown (and world) community on Sept. 13, 2017.
When he grows up, he can come here to discover what his parents, Michael and Kacie, were like before they had to deal with diapers, learner’s permits and tuition payments.
Our cameras were rolling at First Night Morris County 2015 when Mike popped the question to his former Morristown High School classmate.
At the time, Mike was chairman of First Night Morris– he helped put the annual event on solid financial footing–and Kacie was a social worker at Overlook Hospital.
These days, Mike serves on the Morristown zoning board and housing authority, in addition to his day job. And we suspect Kacie will have her hands full for a little while.
Congratulations to the new family!
And special congrats to Palmer’s grandparents, Denise Schmidt, always a pleasure at First Night, and Steve Welsh, Kacie’s dad, who keeps the Morris Plains Memorial Day Parade rolling every year.
