Mansion in May 2017 has delivered the goods. It was a heavy lift.

Members of the Women’s Association for Morristown Medical Center  handed over a giant check for $1.5 million to officials at the hospital on Friday.

Raised via tours of The Abbey (Alnwick Hall), a Gilded Age mansion in Morris Township, the money will fund creation of a Center for Nursing Innovation and Research.

Morristown Medical Center President Trish O’Keefe –who has devoted most of her career to nursing–accepted the check along with Nursing Director Brande Fetherman and James Quinn, chief development officer for the Morristown Medical Center Foundation.

Mansion in May Co-Chairs Megan Cassie Schubiger and Katie Nolle made the presentation, on behalf of some 1,300 volunteers who enabled 24,000 fee-paying visitors to enjoy The Abbey and its grounds.

Now the cycle begins anew.  If you have a spectacular mansion you are willing to share with the public in 2019, Kathy Hobbs of the Mansion in May publicity committee says she would love to hear from you.

Ideally, your mansion has some historical significance. And you won’t mind vacating the place for six months while an army of decorators and designers gives it a temporary makeover.
