By Tara Speer, Assumption Church
Last weekend, past and present members of the Good Shepherd Children and Families Program at Assumption Church in Morristown came together in love, service and compassion for the children of Houston affected by Hurricane Harvey served by Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of Galveston-Houston.
The great love of the Good Shepherd Program children and Assumption parish family and friends helped us prepare 128 backpacks with school supplies and prayers/letters of encouragement for the children in and around Houston, Texas.
The backpacks and extra school supplies were shipped with great joy to the Catholic Charities Archdiocese of Galveston-Houston last Monday in 30 boxes!
Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of Galveston-Houston posted this wonderful thank you to everyone.
Please know how very grateful this native Houstonian is to all my Good Shepherd Children and their families, as well as as all my Assumption family and friends for all their compassion, love, and service to the children of the Good Shepherd in Houston.
