SECOND ANNUAL KIDFEST AT THE MORRISTOWN FESTIVAL OF BOOKS KICKS OFF ON SATURDAY, OCT. 14 FROM 10-5!

KidFest returns to the Morristown Festival of Books with award-winning children’s authors you won’t want to miss!

This year’s exciting roster includes KidFest Featured Author and Newbery Award-winner Kate DiCamillo (La La La), Gold medal-winning Olympic gymnast Laurie Hernandez (I Got This: To Gold and Beyond), best-selling author of the How to Train Your Dragon series Cressida Cowell (The Wizards of Once) and singer-songwriter Laurie Berkner (We Are the Dinosaurs).

The roster also features Jacky Davis (Black Belt Bunny and Ladybug Girl’s Day Out with Grandpa), David Soman (Ladybug Girl’s Day Out with Grandpa), Tad Hills (Duck and Goose: Honk! Quack! BOO!) and Lauren Tarshis (I Survived The American Revolution, 1776).

But wait, there’s more: Scott Westerfeld (Horizon), Wendy Mass (The Candymakers and the Great Chocolate Chase), Tracey Baptiste (Rise of the Jumbies), James Preller (The Case From Outer Space: A Jigsaw Jones Mystery), Donna Jo Napoli (Fish Girl), Ame Dyckman (You Don’t Want a Unicorn), and Susie Jaramillo (Little Skeletons).

Kids and their families also are encouraged to explore their creativity and embrace their curiosity through musical acts, hands-on crafts, writing workshops, and more! Costumed characters and concessions on site round out the attractions.

'I Got This' by Olympic gold medalist Laurie HernandezNew to KidFest this year is an Author Talk and Meet and Greet with Olympic gymnast Laurie Hernandez.

This event, which begins at 3:45 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 14, at the Church of the Redeemer, 36 South St. in Morristown, is the only ticketed event among the author talks on Saturday. Tickets for the Meet and Greet may be purchased online at  the festival website. Get yours before they go!

Parents and grandparents—don’t forget that a full day of free author talks, panel discussions and book signings for adults is taking place at the same time in venues adjacent to or across the street from KidFest.

KidFest 2017 begins at 10 a.m. at the Presbyterian Church Parish House, 65 South St. in Morristown, in the heart of all the action and fun of the Morristown Festival of Books.
