The calendar is a little lighter than usual this week. If you’re bound for a beach for the Labor Day weekend, safe travels!

THURSDAY,  AUG. 31, 2017:

We goofed last week. Who knew there were five Thursdays in August? (Not us, obviously.)  Tonight is the swan song for Meet Me in Morristown, which concludes its fourth season with arts and music along South Street and the Morristown Green, from 5 pm to 9 pm. The free summer fun is presented by Morris Arts and the Morristown Partnership.

FRIDAY, SEPT. 1:

Morning Yoga with Munah Hayes returns to the Morristown & Township Library at 9:30 am. Free. Bring a yoga mat. At One Miller Road, Morristown.

Songwriter Julie Gold (From a Distance) headlines at The Minstrel in Morris Township, with opener Jacob Johnson, a South Carolinian specializing in “neo-acoustic folk/funk.” Showtime is 7:30 pm, admission: Admission: $10; ages 12 and under, free. At the Morristown Unitarian Fellowship, 21 Normandy Heights Road.

SATURDAY, SEPT. 2:

The Morris Plains Farmers Market is back, every Saturday through Oct. 7, from 9 am to 2 pm on Merchant’s Block, near the Model Railroad Club Building.


SUNDAY, SEPT. 3:

The Morristown Farmers Market is back for its 26th season, every Sunday through Nov. 19, between 8:30 am and 2 pm. Outdoors in the parking lot between Morris and Spring Street, off Dumont Place. Presented by the Morristown Partnership. Call 973-455-1133 for more.
