Spend some quality time on a lawn you don’t have to mow, watching a movie or a band.

THURSDAY, AUG. 24, 2017:

St. Margaret’s Church Carnival starts its weekend run with rides, games, prizes, Latin American food, and more, from 6 pm to 11 pm, at 6 Sussex Ave. in Morristown.

Chris Isaak (Wicked Game, Somebody’s Crying) comes to Morristown’s Mayo Performing Arts Center at 8 pm, with opener Mike “MiZ” Mizwinski. Tickets: $49-$99. At 100 South St. Call 973-539-8008.

FRIDAY, AUG. 25:

Morning Yoga with Munah Hayes returns to the Morristown & Township Library at 9:30 am. Free. Bring a yoga mat. At One Miller Road, Morristown.

The annual rummage sale of the Woman’s Club of Morristown starts with a special preview party, from 6 pm to 9 pm. Get first crack at a wide range of high-quality items for the home, dorm, etc., before the weekend crowds. Light refreshments will be served. Admission: $10. All proceeds benefit the club’s charities, and the maintenance of its historic headquarters, the Condit House at 51 South St.

The rock and blues band Hatchet Jack will perform a free concert at 6 pm on the lawn of the Museum of Early Trades and Crafts in Madison. Rain or shine. Picnics encouraged. At 9 Main St. Call 973-377-2982.

The Folk Project’s Fifth Annual New Jersey Uke Fest, celebrating all things ukulele, kicks off at 7 pm in the Ukrainian American Cultural Center of New Jersey in Whippany. A 7:30 pm concert features Danielle Ate the Sandwich and the Lords of Liechtenstein. Admission: $20. At 60-C North Jefferson Road. The festival continues on Saturday with workshops and another concert, and concludes on Sunday morning with a free jam on the Morristown Green. Admission to all Saturday and Sunday events: $110; Saturday complete, $95; workshops only, $80; concerts, $20. Here’s more.

The Presbyterian Church in Morristown presents a free outdoor screening of Toy Story on the lawn of the Parish House at 65 South St. (Rain moves the film into the Parish House Gym.) Bring lawn chairs or beach blankets. Some lawn games and free snacks will be available as the sun sets.

SATURDAY, AUG. 26:

ukefest 2017 logoThe New Jersey Uke Fest continues at the Ukrainian American Cultural Center in Whippany, with registration at 8:15 am and workshops for ukulele players of all abilities starting at 9:15 am. A 7:30 pm concert features Kimo Hussey, Rachel Manke and The Curt Sheller Jazz Trio. Admission: Full day, $95; workshops only, $80; concert only, $20. Bring food, or buy buffet meals there. At 60-C North Jefferson Road.  

The Morris Plains Farmers Market is back, every Saturday through Oct. 7, from 9 am to 2 pm on Merchant’s Block, near the Model Railroad Club Building.

SUNDAY, AUG. 27:

The Morristown Farmers Market is back for its 26th season, every Sunday through Nov. 19, between 8:30 am and 2 pm. Outdoors in the parking lot between Morris and Spring Street, off Dumont Place. Presented by the Morristown Partnership. Call 973-455-1133 for more.

The annual rummage sale of the Woman’s Club of Morristown concludes from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m at 51 South St. Admission: Free. Proceeds benefit club charities, and maintenance of its historic Condit House headquarters.

The Fifth Annual New Jersey Uke Fest concludes at 10:30 am with a free jam session on the Morristown Green. Some world class ukulele players have played here with novices, just for fun, in prior years.
