Commuters using Skedaddle’s Morristown-New York charter buses during the summer train repairs now can buy a pass for August.  The weekday schedule also has been modified.

The August pass for weekday round-trip service is $399, said Skedaddle spokeswoman Lindsay Dougherty.  Daily trips are $13 each way between the Morristown train station and 7th Avenue and 31st Street in Manhattan.

And starting on Monday, July 24, 2017, a 6:30 am bus from Morristown will be added. Other buses run at 7 am and 7:30 am.  An 8 am bus is being eliminated.

A 5:30 pm bus from New York also is being eliminated. Return trips still are scheduled for 6 pm and 7 pm.

Meanwhile, the ride company Lyft is offering discounts this month to rail commuters affected by disruptions to NJ Transit’s Midtown Direct service.

Fares will be cut in half for two rides taking place from Monday-Friday that start or end at one of the 39 train stations along NJ Transit’s Morris & Essex lines, including Hoboken Station and Newark Penn Station, a spokeswoman said.

The Morristown, Convent Station and Morris Plains stations also are included.

By using the code [NJSUMMERTRAVEL17] or visiting https://www.lyft.com/invite/NJSUMMERTRAVEL17, new and existing users can activate the discount in advance of their ride, said the spokeswoman. This offer is available in limited quantity, she said.

Amtrak track upgrades leading into Penn Station are expected to continue until Labor Day.
