THURSDAY, JUNE 22, 2017:

Mosquita y Mari posterThe “Growing Up Proud” film series continues at the Morristown & Township Library with free a 7 pm screening of Mosquita y Mari (U.S., 2012, not rated). At One Miller Road, Morristown.

The Shakespeare Theatre of New Jersey presents A Midsummer Night’s Dream under the stars, in the amphitheater of the College of Saint Elizabeth in Morris Township. Performances through July 30, 2017, Tuesdays through Sundays at 8 pm, with an added 4:30 pm show on Sundays. Tickets: $37; patrons age 30 and under $30; youths 18 and under, free. At 2 Convent Road. FRIDAY, JUNE 23:

Morning Yoga with Munah Hayes returns to the Morristown & Township Library at 9:30 am. Free. Bring a yoga mat. At One Miller Road, Morristown.

Three Girl Scouts are presenting Cabaret Against Cancer, a benefit concert for the Goryeb Children’s Hospital, at 7 pm at the Frelinghuysen Middle School. Instead of paying for admission, guests are asked to bring donations of toys, games, and books for pediatric cancer patients. Gift cards, coloring books, movies, books, LEGO sets, decks of cards, and action figures would be greatly appreciated. beach partyThe Minstrel in Morris Township hosts a “Summer Beach Party” sing-along at 7:30 pm. Bring your voice, bring an instrument, and sing favorite summer tunes, projected with lyrics and chords onto a big screen. Prizes for the most outrageous summer garb. Admission: $12, includes special foods. Proceeds benefit the Folk Project. At the Morristown Unitarian Fellowship, at 21 Normandy Heights Road.

The band Midnight Sun will perform a Grateful Dead tribute at 9 pm in the Rathskeller, at Morristown’s Jockey Hollow Bar & Kitchen, 110 South St.

SATURDAY, JUNE 24:

The Morris Plains Farmers Market is back, every Saturday through Oct. 7, from 9 am to 2 pm on Merchant’s Block, near the Model Railroad Club Building.

Morris Township’s Season Opening Pool Party runs from 1 pm to 8 pm at the Streeter Pool. A DJ will pump music all day, with live music from 2 pm and 5 pm by MidLife Crisis. NASH-FM radio personalities will be on hand with contests and prizes, too. Hot dogs and hamburgers for all. Admission: Free for pool members, $5 for nonmembers.

SUNDAY, JUNE 25:

The Morristown Farmers Market is back for its 26th season, every Sunday through Nov. 19, between 8:30 am and 2 pm. Outdoors in the parking lot between Morris and Spring Street, off Dumont Place. Presented by the Morristown Partnership. Call 973-455-1133 for more.

Rotary District 7470 of Northern New Jersey hosts a fundraising WalkFest at 9 am, at the Loantaka Brook Reservation in Morris Township. Email here for registration- and pledge details.

rotary walkfest flyer 2017The Woman’s Club of Morristown hosts a mini flea market from 10 am to 3 pm indoors at 51 South St., to benefit the club and its charities. Furniture includes an upholstered rocking chair, a large mid-century coffee table, and more.

The Salvation Army will celebrate its 126th anniversary with live music and free ice cream on the Morristown Green at 3:30 pm. A 25-piece Youth Brass Band will march from the organization’s building at 95 Spring St., where refreshments will be served later. There will be proclamations, and brief remarks from Capt. Samuel Gonzalez, the general secretary of the Salvation Army’s New Jersey Division.

Pack your picnic basket and relax to the sounds of the New Jersey Symphony, at the 34th annual Giralda Music and Arts Festival in Madison. Morris Arts opens the gates at Giralda Farms; the benefit concert starts at 6 pm. Win prizes for the best picnic themes, visit artist tents, eat ice cream from a vintage truck. Advance tickets $15 adults (over 12); children $4; under 4, free. At the gate:$20 /$5 / under 4, free. At Dodge Drive/Madison Ave. (Rt. 124).
