The Farmers Markets are back!

And so are the winners of Morristown Onstage, performing at the Relay for Life.

This weekend in Greater Morristown offers something for everyone. Riverdance and Dancing With the Stars: Live! return. The LGBT community presents a benefit concert. A fundraising walk helps fight eating disorders.

For laughs–and living proof that life begins at 40 (give or take)–comic Terry Fator of America’s Got Talent fame comes to town.

THURSDAY,  JUNE 15, 2017:

 

The Morristown & Township Library kicks off its The Growing Up Proud film series at 7 pm with Viva (Ireland / Cuba, R-rated, subtitles, 100 minutes). Free. At One Miller Road, Morristown.

The Riverdance 20th Anniversary World Tour comes to Morristown’s Mayo Performing Arts Center at 8 pm. Tickets: $39-$89. At 100 South St. Call 973-539-8008.

FRIDAY, JUNE 16:

Morning Yoga with Munah Hayes returns to the Morristown & Township Library at 9:30 am. Free. Bring a yoga mat. At One Miller Road, Morristown.

The Mayo Performing Arts Center presents the Music Student of the Month Year-End Recital at 7 pm. Free. Morris County’s top music students – as chosen by their teachers – show their stuff. At 100 South St. Call 973-539-8008.

The singer/songwriter duo of Madeline Fendrick and Brian Peck headlines at The Minstrel in Morris Township at 7:30 pm, with opener Shawna Caspi from Toronto. Admission: $10. At the Morristown Unitarian Fellowship, at 21 Normandy Heights Road.

SATURDAY, JUNE 17:

The Morris Plains Farmers Market is back, every Saturday through Oct. 7, from 9 am to 2 pm on Merchant’s Block, near the Model Railroad Club Building.

The American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life presents a chance to see encores from the winners of this year’s Morristown Onstage competition, as well as rising star Brynn Stanley, the voice of MorristownGreen.com. Registration starts at 3 pm at Mennen Arena in Morris Township; the event runs from 4 pm to 11 pm. Brynn sings at 4:45 pm; Julianna Belles takes the stage at 6:30 pm;  the Treble Threats (Nile Birch, Victoria Fanning and Anna Skelton) sings at 6:45 pm, and Jay and Myles perform at 8:15 pm. Hear My Song, a night of song and stories from the LGBT and Ally community, comes to Morristown’s Episcopal Church of the Redeemer at 7 pm. Admission: $10. Proceeds benefit area charities. At 36 South St.

SUNDAY, JUNE 18:

The Morristown Farmers Market is back for its 26th season, every Sunday through Nov. 19, between 8:30 am and 2 pm. Outdoors in the parking lot between Morris and Spring Street, off Dumont Place. Presented by the Morristown Partnership. Call 973-455-1133 for more.

Check-in time: 9:30 am.  NEDA “supports individuals and families affected by eating disorders, and serves as a catalyst for prevention, cures and access to quality care,” according to its website.
