From the Morristown High School broadcasting department:

On Friday June 9, 2017, Morristown High School hosts its Fifth Annual Film Festival from 7-10 pm in the school’s media center.

The event is the culmination of Morristown High’s annual Art and Design Show, a week-long celebration of student artwork, photography, and music.

This year’s entries will be judged by Tara Bernie, a television producer at NBC Universal’s Access Hollywood; Shoshannah Buxbaum, a producer at NJTV News with Mary Alice Williams; and Pamela Garber, a content producer with Grey Advertising.

Under the leadership of Morristown High School Broadcasting teacher Michael Butler, students produced films exploring and interpreting this year’s theme: “Color.” Films include a look at the rainbow flag, the colors of emotions, and a claymation on acceptance.

This year’s Film Festival Committee is comprised of the following students:

Darren Gong ‘17, Amanda Geffner ‘17, Haley MacMillan ‘18, Mat Mruz ‘18, Julia Woodworth ‘18, Lucas Mohs ‘18, Joseph Caputo ‘18, Nya Federoff ‘19, Kylee Strasser ‘19, Jessica Vogel ‘19, Lucas Chiarello ‘19, Michelle Marin ‘20, Casey McNichol ‘20.

In addition to showcasing student work, the film festival hopes to engage the wider Morristown community.

The prizes, furnished by an anonymous donor, include GoPro and DSLR cameras, camera bags, and other filmmaking gear.

Proceeds from the concession stand will go to supporting the school’s Broadcasting program, which also runs the school’s television program, “Colonial Corner,” and its radio station, WJSV 90.5 FM Morristown.

Morristown High is at 50 Early St.  The public is invited. Admission: Free.
