Stamp out hunger with Greater Morristown mail carriers, May 13

From the Interfaith Food Pantry:

On Saturday, May 13, 2017, Letter Carriers across the country will take part in their 25th Annual “Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive.”

The drive, sponsored by the National Association of Letter Carriers (NALC), is America’s largest one-day food collection event that provides millions of pounds of food to local hunger relief agencies.

To help, all you need to do is place non-perishable food items in a bag next to your mailbox before your letter carrier arrives on Saturday, May 13th, and your letter carrier will do the rest.

Food collected is donated to local food pantries. In the areas of Madison, Chatham, Florham Park, Cedar Knolls, Whippany, Morristown, Morris Plains, Mendham, Dover, Rockaway, Mountain Lakes and Parsippany the food will be donated to the Interfaith Food Pantry.

Some of the items most needed are canned soup, canned fruit, canned tuna, evaporated, dry or shelf stable milk, pasta sauce in cans or plastic jars, canned beans (such as kidney, pinto, etc.), pasta and cereal.
