A body has been found on the grounds of Fort Nonsense, Tom Ross, superintendent of the Morristown National Historical Park, confirmed on Tuesday night.

“We were alerted. Park Rangers are on the scene,” along with multiple agencies, Ross said.

No further details were immediately available. We’ll post them as we learn more.

Fort Nonsense sits atop a hill overlooking Morristown. It was built under orders from Gen. George Washington during the Revolutionary War; the outpost’s name remains a mystery and several explanations of the fort’s intended purpose have been suggested over the years.

It’s one of four sites that comprise the national historical park.
