UPDATE: This version adds details from Morris Township police.

Ten cars were burglarized in Morristown and Morris Township early Monday, Morristown Administrator Jillian Barrick said.

The vehicles were on Elliott and Mills streets, Sussex and Walker avenues, and Longview Place, and all were unlocked, officials said. They were entered between midnight and 5 am, Barrick said.

Some electronics were taken, said Morris Township Police Capt. Mark DiCarlo.  Four of the burglaries involved vehicles on Sussex Avenue and Longview Place in the Township, he said, asking anyone with information to call Township detectives at 973-326-7480.

At least one Morristown resident reported finding what appeared to be blood inside his car.

“We certainly are reminding residents to lock their cars, and not leave valuables in plain sight,” Barrick said.
