The New Jersey VegFest 2016 was such a blast that we want to keep the good times going and started holding vegan pop-up shops at the Laundromat Bar at 4 DeHart Street in Morristown. We were there in January, February and March, and so were 1,707 of you, along with amazing food from places like Fogwood & Fig, Freakin Vegans, MoPweeze Bakery and so many more.
We will be back with three more in Morristown, April 30, June 25 and July 30. That would be awesome enough, but we can’t stop and will be holding two in Asbury Park! Here’s the thing we have discovered about vegan pop-up shops and even the New Jersey VegFest. Vegans know what these things are, but when talking to our favorite omnivore friends, we have discovered that they believe these events are full of piles of radishes and carrots and maybe wheatgrass shots. While they politely think it’s great we want to go to something like that, they aren’t really interested.
In reality, our vegan pop-up shops are full of crazy amazing food that would make almost any foodie cry with joy, fancy cocktails, local craft beers, art by New Jersey’s best, clothing, beauty products and even vegan shoes.
We want people who maybe don’t get the vegan thing to come to our events and try the food and hangout and see it’s nothing but good. So we did a couple things. First we made video in January showing what was happening. You won’t see piles of potatoes, but you will see some mimosas and lots of laughing. Next, we got our own celebrity taste tester, John Coyle to come out and review the food for us. John Coyle is an award-winning homebrewer from Morris Area Society of Homebrewers, and while he isn’t vegan, he jumped in to give us his honest thoughts on the food.

Ok! I think we can all agree that looks fun. Next up are John Coyle’s reviews of the food at the March vegan pop-up shop. John is joined in this videos by his biggest fans: the New Jersey’s VegFest’s Marisa Sweeney, his friend, Scott Ayers and his mom, Lauren Coyle. We were also pretty thrilled when Morristown Mayor Dougherty stopped by to try out the food and joined in on a couple reviews. The sound is a little glitchy sometimes, but sometimes it is fine, so do your best to ignore it.
