Morristown Mayor Tim Dougherty picked up an endorsement on Wednesday from town fire officials.

Fire Chief Robert Flanagan said the Mayor has backed efforts to make the fire department “the most trained, well equipped fire department in this region.”

The chief was joined by Captains Stuart Williamson, Robert Whitehead, First Assistant Chief Paul J. Miller, and other fire officials at a meet-and-greet at Modera 44.

Dougherty, who seeks his third term, faces a challenge in the Democratic primary by Councilwoman Michelle Duprée Harris.

  1. Perhaps, the Mayor and council will consider providing our firemen and ambulance squad with a much needed and long overdue new firehouse on the other side of Morristown, where their historic old firehouses can no longer house that modern up dated equipment.
