Already, we’re liking 2017 better than its predecessor.
The 25th anniversary edition of First Night Morris County got things off to a great start on Saturday night.
The weather was dry and seasonably crisp, the fireworks were right on time, and entertainment recruited by Morris Arts was superb.
And the crowd size approached last year’s 5,800 patrons, according to First Night Director Craig Schlosser.
Sheila Miller of Cedar Knolls was a happy repeat customer.
“It’s just such a lovely way to celebrate the coming of the New Year, and the quality of the musicianship was wonderful,” Miller said after hearing Solid Brass perform in St. Peter’s Episcopal Church, resplendent with poinsettias and holiday wreaths. “It’s a lovely atmosphere. Everyone’s pleasant and happy.”
Twenty-seven venues across Morristown were overflowing with art, comedy, dance and music. We’ll post more highlights soon. In the meantime, have a look at these snaps, and check out our live-streamed videos on MorristownGreen.com’s Facebook page.
