One of the least enjoyable parts of the holiday season is packing everything away. But those unwanted holiday
decorations and ready-to-be re-gifted presents could serve a higher purpose.

The Woman’s Club of Morristown‘s annual Holiday Bazaar, held each November, raises funds for philanthropic projects such as scholarships and the preservation of the historic Dr. Lewis Condict House.

Much of the event’s success can be attributed to the merchandise donated by members of the community. In anticipation of next year’s Bazaar, the Club is asking the public to donate new, like-new, or vintage holiday ornaments and decorative items; unused gift wrap and boxed cards; and specialty gift items. Toys are not being accepted.

“While people are putting away their holiday decorations, this is the perfect time to weed out the items that no longer give them joy. Donors will gain extra storage space, along with the knowledge that their things will find a new home while aiding the Woman’s Club’s charitable works,” said Gen Troyen of Morris Township, Holiday Bazaar chairwoman.

Items should be clean, undamaged, and, for lights and electrical items, in working order. Donations may be left in the pantry of the Woman’s Club at 51 South St., Morristown, during regular business hours, Monday through Friday.

Donors wishing a letter of acknowledgment should include an inventory of donated goods and their name and address. The WCM is a 501(c)(3) organization.

The members of the Woman’s Club of Morristown are dedicated to serving their community through civic, cultural, and educational projects. The group works closely with the NJ State Federation of Women’s Clubs and the General Federation of Women’s Clubs.

The Club is a non-profit, non-political, non-sectarian organization whose purpose is to promote improvements within its community; to offer civic and cultural activities; and to preserve its headquarters, the historic Dr. Lewis Condict House.
