Democrats and Republicans donning antlers together? Volunteers and town employees joining in duets?
It must be holiday season.
After Tuesday’s council meeting, Councilwoman Michelle Dupree Harris produced a bag of antlers for the council’s annual video greeting, which included town Administrator Jillian Barrick and other staff members.
And on Wednesday, Mayor Tim Dougherty and First Lady Mary Dougherty hosted the annual Seniors Holiday Party, a banquet catered gratis by local restaurants, with a raffle of gifts from town businesses and music from deejay Pete Limone of Crescents fame.
“This is the best buffet you will ever have. It’s better than a Vegas buffet,” the Mayor said.
Senior citizen Catherine Burwell seconded that opinion.
“Everything is really nice and tasty,” she said, adding that she liked mingling with old friends.

“People are talking and I’m enjoying what they say, and you eat food. Before you know it, you’re full!” Burwell said.
Wayne Cresta, who manages the town’s senior services, estimated 200 guests packed the town hall seniors center.
“At this rate, we’re going to have to knock out a wall next year,” the Mayor said.
Here’s a list of eateries and businesses who made the party a party.
How long will the spirit last at town hall?
Check back in the spring. Harris has said she plans to run against the Mayor.
