The Frelinghuysen Arboretum in Morris Township has been transformed into a Gingerbread Wonderland until Dec. 11, 2016, much to the delight of children and adults.
Gingerbread houses are on display from families, Scouts, school groups, adults, and special needs children, and the only limitation is the builder’s imagination.
There are Sponge Bob scenes, dogs, cats, the Starship Enterprise, a TIE fighter, Frosty the Snowman, the Abominable Snowman, and an ugly Christmas sweater factory, just to name a few.

More than 1,800 people turned out for the exhibit’s opening day, with more than 10,000 expected in total.
The entire staff at the Arboretum has gotten into the holiday spirit. Or maybe it’s just all the sugar in the air.
One young visitor, Brady from Montville, surveyed the gingerbread mansions and summed it up best: “I want to eat them!”
They did indeed look good enough to eat.
Admission to the Gingerbread Wonderland is $2; ages 2 and under, free. Through Dec. 11, at 353 E. Hanover Ave.
