Pedestrian charged after being struck by vehicle in Morristown

A 23-year-old Madison woman received a summons for not obeying a crossing signal after she was struck by a vehicle in Morristown early on Sunday.

morristown police logoThe woman, Sarah Satterfield, was taken to Morristown Medical Center after complaining of minor neck pain, reported Morristown Police Capt. Michael Buckley.

Satterfield was walking east on Morris Street around 1:30 am and entered the intersection of Pine Street as a 2010 Mercedes driven by 73-year-old Jeffrey Garvin of Pine Brook was proceeding through the intersection onto Pine Street, Buckley said.

Garvin had a green light; Satterfield had a “don’t walk” crosswalk signal, investigating Officer Robert Iozzia determined.

  1. How about ticketing all the bicycle riders who race down the sidewalks like they own the sidewalk???

    get them back onto the street where they belong! Someone is going to get badly injured by this blatant disregard for the rules of the sidewalk…

  2. This jaywalking happens everyday. Especially on the corner of Elm & Franklin. Good for the police issuing a summons to the walker, but it is a shame she got hit.
