Reliable sources tell us Santa has booked his flight with Reindeer Express, and will be landing on the roof of Morristown’s Century 21 shortly after 5 pm on Sunday, Nov. 27, 2016.

He’ll be taking up residence inside his cozy bungalow on the Green for kiddie photos ($10) and Christmas lists, starting that evening and continuing each weekend until Christmas, with bonus weekdays on Dec. 21-23.

It’s part of the Morristown Partnership’s annual Christmas Festival at the Morristown Green.

Train rides and ice sculpting are returning, and there will be sing-alongs with the Morris Choral Society, Morristown High School Theatre, the Original Music School and the Mayo Performing Arts Company.

A dance party, ornament painting, storytelling and more are planned, too.  Activities are listed here.

GIFT GREENBACKS BONUS FOR ‘SMALL BUSINESS SATURDAY’

To help you tackle your holiday shopping, the Partnership once again is offering a gift certificate bonus on Small Business Saturday, Nov. 26, 2016.

For every $50 of “Shop Local” gift certificates you buy, the Partnership will throw in $20 of bonus certificates–while supplies last.

You must show up between 10 am and 2 pm at the Partnership’s office, at 14 Maple Ave. on the second floor.  Each household is limited to a $500 purchase (which brings another $200 in bonus certificates).

The certificates are honored by dozens of Morristown establishments. The regular certificates are good forever; the bonus ones must be used within a year.  Complete details are here.

Additionally, several local shops are participating in a Small Business Saturday Scavenger Hunt, starting at the b.jones Organic Spa at 10 am.
