From Morristown police:
On Sunday, Sept. 11, 2016, Morristown will be hosting the Gran Fondo Cycling Event. For the duration of the event ( 5 am until 7 pm), North Park Place (Rt. 202 on the Green) and Speedwell Avenue between Spring Street and the Green will be closed to vehicular traffic.
Local traffic only will be allowed on Speedwell Avenue between Spring Street and Cattano Avenue.
Between 7 am and 8 am approximately 2,300 cyclists will be leaving Morristown heading west towards Mendham on the following roads:
- Speedwell Avenue.
- East, South and West Park Place. (The Green)
- Washington Street
Cyclists will be returning to Morrsitown in stages beginning at 8 and throughout the day until approximately 5 pm on:
- Sussex Avenue
- Lake Road
- Speedwell Avenue
Motorists are urged to seek alternate routes if possible and to exercise caution in the presence of the riders.
