Shakespeare Theatre seeks child actors for upcoming production of RICHARD III
MADISON, NJ – The Shakespeare Theatre of New Jersey is seeking child actors to play the two young princes in its upcoming production of William Shakespeare’s Richard III, directed by Paul Mullins. The production begins performances Oct. 5, 2016, and continues through Nov. 6.
Director Paul Mullins is seeking young male actors of any ethnicity, between the ages of 8 and 12, with some previous Shakespeare experience preferable.
Rehearsals for the princes will begin in mid-September and are held at The Shakespeare Theatre’s support facility, located at 3 Vreeland Road in Florham Park.
The actors must be available for evening performances Tuesdays to Sundays, with afternoon matinees on Saturdays and Sundays, as well as several student matinees, which are performed during school hours.
Every effort will be made to keep school-hour rehearsal time to a minimum and the roles will be double cast so that the young actors are only performing 4-5 times a week.
