Tom Werder, executive director of Morris Arts, has a good track record with outdoor events. The annual Giralda Farms fundraising concert has gone off without so much as a sprinkle for years.
But Werder did not foresee the damp weather that rolled in at the last minute on Thursday evening, prompting an early shutdown of the monthly Meet Me in Morristown sidewalk fair.
Although Morris Arts and the Morristown Partnership allow for Friday do-overs in such cases, the logistics of that require a noontime cancellation on Thursday. That didn’t happen this time. So we’ll have to wait until Thursday, Aug. 25, 2016, for the season’s final Meet Me in Morristown.
Werder’s phone has several weather apps, which have served him well– until now.
“Guess I need one more app,” he said on Thursday night.
