Morristown police say Ridgedale Avenue is closed near John Street on Thursday evening; they are asking the public to avoid all nonessential travel in town because of downed trees and electrical lines.
As of early evening, Jersey Central Power & Light reports these local outages:
Morristown: 3,363 customers (34 percent of total customers)
Morris Township: 1,595 customers (18 percent)
