As part of the Revolutionary Times Fourth of July weekend celebration in Morristown, The Presbyterian Church in Morristown (57 East Park Place, Morristown) is offering free historic church and colonial-era graveyard tours on Monday, July 4 from 1-3pm.
Walk across the street after the celebration on the Morristown Green to learn about this historic church’s place in Morristown’s history since 1733 when the church and graveyard were founded – the symbolism of the architecture, artifacts and stained glass windows and Who’s Who in the Graveyard, including revolutionary soldiers and key figures leading the fight for independence.
This year, Revolutionary Times celebrates the 200th anniversary of the Morristown Green, deeded to Trustees for the “express purpose of a Green or Commons” back in 1816 by… wait for it… The Presbyterian Church in Morristown.
