WFMU Radio’s Dr. Gameshow
Friday May 13, 2016
Do you enjoy improvisation and comedy? Do you relish the competition to win games submitted by non-professional game designers? Did you love games that mix Elton John and werewolf noises? How about games involving dating and professional wrestling? Games that turn every non-holiday thing into Christmas? Or do you long for games that really don’t have any sort of strategy? Then Dr. Gameshow is for you!
Dr. Gameshow is a weekly radio show on WFMU hosted by comedian Jo Firestone. Listeners submit game show ideas each week, and the most outrageous and experimental get played on the air. Listeners also call in to play against that week’s in-studio guests. Dr. Gameshow also features a man named Manolo who often gets to judge these games as well as make his theme song for each game. If The Price Is Right met Pee Wee Herman, you’d end up with Dr. Gameshow.
Come join us as the library hosts Dr. Gameshow live! Jo and Manolo will present some games they have played on the air on WMFU in the past and audience participation will be encouraged. Are you good at improv and thinking on your feet? Would you rather just sit back and enjoy watching others think on their feet instead? Do you want to compete against other players at games requiring wit, relatively no strategy and crazy answers? Then come by and join the fun!
This program is supported by the Friends of the Morristown & Morris Township Library.
