A week-long “Eco Art Show” opens on Sunday, April 17, 2016, at the Madison United Methodist Church, from 11 am to 2 pm.

Artists from Drew University, Morris County, Newark and New York City will exhibit their works on the first level of the church at 24 Madison Ave.  They range from preschoolers to pros.

Their mission: “To use creativity to explore the care and appreciation for the Earth,” said Chelsea Jackson, assistant pastor of the church.  She added “it is really important to note that this is a community show, and is not strictly religious in nature or content.”

However, the closing reception on Sunday, April 24, 2016, will feature a talk by an educator who has spent two decades studying the intersection of religion and environmentalism.

That “Lunch and Learn” lecture, by Drew Associate Professor Laurel Kearns at 11:15 am, is free–just like the exhibition.

The rest of the show schedule looks like this:

Monday, April 18:  11 am to 2 pm

Tuesday: 9 am to 11 am

Wednesday: Closed

Thursday: 9 am to 11 am

Friday: 6 pm to 8 pm

Saturday: 11 am to 2 pm
