Usually, it’s a bad idea to run from the police. But Morris Township cops are encouraging it–for one day only.
That day is Sunday, April 17, 2016, for the first annual Cops & Robbers 5K (& Jaywalkers 1-Miler).
The Morris Township PBA Local 133 is hosting the event at 9 am, at Ginty Field. The “robbers” start first, and the cops start three minutes later and attempt to overtake them.
Proceeds benefit the New Jersey State Policemen’s Benevolent Association and the Brody Hydock Foundation. Entry fee: $20. Prizes will be given out in each age category, and for best costumes.
