MORRIS PLAINS, NJ:  The Interfaith Food Pantry (IFP), which serves Morris County residents by providing emergency and supplemental food during times of need, will recognize Moretrench, Investors Bank, and Delbarton School at their 17th Annual Spring Gala “Making Hunger Disappear,” which will be held on April 8, 2016, at the Birchwood Manor in Whippany, NJ.

“Through their long term support and partnership these three organizations have helped us make a tremendous impact on our community over the years and have made a difference for thousands of people who are at risk of hunger. Last year we distributed almost a million pounds of food and fed nearly 10,000 people. This truly takes a village and the people of Moretrench, Investors Bank and Delbarton are great examples of caring people and organizations that make an impact by reaching out to help others”, said Rosemary Gilmartin, Executive Director of the Interfaith Food Pantry.

Moretrench, a nationally renowned construction company based in Rockaway, is the IFP’s “Pantry Partner Award” recipient and Premier Sponsor of this year’s Gala.  The company is being recognized for their support of the Pantry since 2008. The group has conducted numerous food drives over the years, volunteer regularly with the Thanksgiving Program, participated in the IFP “Kitchen to Table” program by cooking healthy, easy to prepare meals for homebound individuals, and provided financial support of more than $40,000 through sponsorships, employee contributions and donations in lieu of holiday gifts on behalf of Moretrench customers.

Art Corwin, the company’s President and CEO said that the 100+ year old company has always embodied a culture of service to the community. He stated “I think there are many people who don’t understand the concept of the working poor.  There are those among us who work very hard and still can’t make ends meet, they need a little extra support from us to make it.”

Investors Bank and Delbarton School will be receiving the IFP “Outstanding Service” and “Neighbors Helping Neighbors” Awards, respectively.  Investors Bank has provided volunteer support from employees to assist in the Pantry’s community garden and warehouse and participated in the Pantry’s Capital Campaign to raise funds for their facility.  The Investors Foundation has helped fund the IFP “Healthy Choices” program, which provides healthy food options and nutrition education to pantry clients.  Delbarton School, located in Morris Township, will be recognized for their efforts which include nearly 500 hours of volunteer service to the Pantry, food drives and other fundraising activities.  Their annual Hunger Walk has raised nearly $28,000 to support the Pantry and they have collected more than 9 tons of food which has been distributed to local families in need.

The Spring Gala, which is the Pantry’s largest annual fundraiser, includes a cocktail hour and dinner, live and silent auctions, merchandise and cash raffles, and entertainment. This year’s Gala will feature magicians, fortune tellers and live music by Matt Friedman and Uptown Sounds. Tickets are $250 each and may be purchased online at the IFP website www.mcifp.org.
