Tickets now are on sale for Morristown ONSTAGE, the ninth annual amateur talent show to benefit programs in the Morris School District.

morristown onstage logoOn Wednesday, Feb. 24, 2016, some 15 acts will compete for prizes and bragging rights at the Mayo Performing Arts Center.

Tickets are $25 to $75, at the Mayo box office (100 South St., 973-539-8008) and online.  Last year’s show raised nearly $76,000, according to the Morris Educational Foundation.

“We are anticipating selling out the theater once again this year!” said Molly Servais, chair of the MEF’s talent show committee.

The Mayo Center has 1,300 seats, and they fill fast for this event.  Meet this year’s finalists here.

MORRIS EDUCATIONAL FOUNDATION TO HOST ANNUAL TALENT SHOW – MORRISTOWN ONSTAGE

Talent show at Mayo Performing Arts Center on Feb. 24 will spotlight the best amateur talent form Morristown, Morris Plains and Morris Township.

Morristown, New Jersey, Jan. 31, 2016 – The Morris Educational Foundation announced that tickets will go on sale on Feb. 1, 2016, for its ninth annual talent show, Morristown ONSTAGE.

The talent show will showcase the best amateur talent from Morristown, Morris Plains and Morris Township. The event will be held on Feb. 24, 2016, 7 pm at the Mayo Performing Arts Center in Morristown, New Jersey. Over seventy acts auditioned for the show.

Four distinguished arts and entertainment professionals will judge the competition. Again this year there will be a $1,000 cash prize for 1st place for contestants ages 19 and over, $1,000 cash prize for 1st place for contestants ages 18 and under, and a $500 award for the “Audience Choice” Winner which will be voted on that night at the show.

The Morris Educational Foundation will also award for the first time the Rossoff Rising Star Award for a contestant to further pursue their talent.

The MEF is inviting the community to once again help determine the details of this year’s show through interactive polling. Visit the Morris Educational Foundation on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram to participate. It will all culminate with the audience live vote at the show for the 2016 Audience Choice Winner.

This year’s Master of Ceremonies and host of the show will be Morristown-resident Tara Bernie, Emmy-nominated senior producer for NBC’s Access Hollywood and Access Hollywood LIVE.

Atlantic Health System’s Morristown Medical Center is the event’s headline sponsor.

Last year, the event raised close to $76,000 for the Morris Educational Foundation.
